I chose Shanghai Jiao Tong University because I plan to first attend the language preparatory program and then continue my studies in the field of engineering. SJTU is one of the top universities in China and is highly regarded globally for its strong engineering education, research, and innovation.
The language program for international students is well-structured and provides a solid foundation for further academic studies. I believe it will help me improve my Chinese language skills effectively and prepare me for university-level coursework.
Moreover, being located in Shanghai — a major international city — offers me the opportunity to experience a diverse, dynamic environment I can grow both personally and academically. I am confident that SJTU is the right place for me to start my academic journey and pursue my long-term goal of becog a skilled and globally competitive engineer.- 1 Year ago

I am writing to you with a sincere desire to enroll in the Shanghai Jiao Tong University’s Chinese language program. It is not just a step towards acquiring an education for me but also a significant stage in realizing my dream of becog a doctor.
Thanks to my fathers diplomatic service, I have traveled to different ries: I had a childhood in Iran, I studied in Ukraine and then returned to Russia. Those relocations have broadened my outlook and allowed me to feel the difference between Slavic and Eastern cultures. However, that flow of my life was changed due to a surgery that made me realize the importance of helping those in need. And I decided to change my life path, transitioning to a medical class in high school and immersing myself in the study of medicine. Helping others has become my professional goal.
The achievements of Peoples Republic of China in the field of medicine and its medical universities, known for their quality education and advanced research, influenced my desire to pursue further education in that ry. After exploring various university websites and talking to people, I have understood how challenging it is to get into a medical university in China. But the high requirements have only increased my motivation to work hard to achieve my goal.
After finishing the 11th grade I completed a medical vocational training course and received the qualification of “Junior Nurse Level 4”. I took a first aid course the Russian Red Cross, became a member of the All-Russian Public Movement of Volunteers in Healthcare and participated in medical events, providing first aid to those in need.
I have also started to learn the Chinese language. But since it is better to learn a language in its ry, I decided to find language courses at a Chinese university. After researching many universities and reviewing students’ feedback I have chosen the Shanghai Jiao Tong University. It has the most positive reviews students, especially highlighting the professionalism of the teachers and the individual approach to each student. I believe that people who speak different languages perceive the world differently. So, I am sure that Chinese will become a bridge to a completely new reality and worldview for me.
I hope that this new educational experience under the guidance of caring and professional mentors at the Shanghai Jiao Tong University will help me in understanding the cultural and mental features of the China people and provide me with the essential linguistic foundation for further advancement on my path toward my goal.
After completing the language course I plan to try to enroll in the medical faculty of a China university. After graduation I would like to do an internship at a Chinese company or medical organization. Overall, I understand the difficulty of the path I have chosen and am considering different options.
